Baseball Hall of Famers Willie Mays and Yogi Berra will receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President Barack Obama on Nov. 24.
Craig Calcaterra of NBC Sports' Hardball Talk reported the White House's announcement Monday.
Berra's granddaughter, Lindsay, a reporter for MLB.com, reacted to the news of the New York Yankees legend receiving the honor posthumously:

The Medal of Freedom is the United States' highest civilian honor, awarded to those who've had significant contributions to "cultural or other significant public or private endeavors.
