One day before Major League Baseball's Opening Day, the New York Yankees agreed to acquire utility man Jon Berti from the Miami Marlins on Wednesday, according to Jon Heyman of the New York Post.
Per MLB.com's Christian De Nicola, it is believed to be a three-team trade with the Marlins acquiring outfield prospect John Cruz from the Yankees and another prospect from the Tampa Bay Rays.
Berti, 34, is a six-year MLB veteran who has spent the past five seasons in Miami.
