Yankees Reportedly Under Consideration for Potential Cuba Spring Training Game

The New York Yankees are reportedly one of around 10 teams being considered for spring training games in Cuba should Major League Baseball receive final clearance from the United States government to allow the foreign exhibitions.

Joel Sherman of the New York Post reported many organizations requested the opportunity to play games in Cuba next spring, but some have dropped out as they needed to lock in dates. If given clearance, a lottery is expected to determine which teams will take part.

MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred replied "I hope so" when asked Tuesday about whether the Cuba showcase will happen in 2016, according to the New York Post.
