Yankees News: Luis Severino Shut Down for 2 Weeks with Lat Injury

New York Yankees starting pitcher Luis Severino will miss at least two weeks with a lat injury.

Manager Aaron Boone told reporters prior to Saturday's game against the Boston Red Sox his star right-hander won't throw for two weeks.

The injury occurred during Severino's last start against the Cincinnati Reds on Wednesday. He only threw two innings, allowing four hits and four runs before being removed from the game.

Greg Joyce of the New York Post noted Severino missed five months during the 2019 season after being diagnosed with a Grade 2 lat strain.
