Chicago White Sox relief pitcher Danny Farquhar underwent brain surgery resulting from the aneurysm he suffered Friday night, White Sox vice president Ken Williams announced.
"He's a fighter, and he's in the fight of his life right now," Williams said, per USA Today's Bob Nightengale. "They had to do another surgery, cracking his skull open, and putting a clamp on it. My God. This certainly shows the fragility of life and how we take every day for granted. And it can change in a heartbeat. Literally."
According to Nightengale, Farquhar underwent a procedure Saturday night and is in critical, but stable condition in an ICU unit in a Chicago-area hospital.
