WATCH: Cubs, Pirates get in benches-clearing incident

The Chicago Cubs and Pittsburgh Pirates got into a benches-clearing incident during their one-game playoff on Wednesday after Jake Arrieta was hit by a pitch in the top of the seventh inning.

Arrieta was on the hill for the Cubs and pitching a shutout. He hit Francisco Cervelli in the fifth and Josh Harrison in the sixth, though it was pretty apparent that in such a close playoff game, he would not being doing so intentionally.

However, Tony Watson didn’t care, and the Pirates reliever decided to hit Arrieta when he came up to bat in the 7th.
