The Washington Nationals welcomed reliever Casey Janssen to the ball club this past weekend. Making his Nationals debut out of the bullpen against the Philadelphia Phillies in the 8-1 loss Saturday, Janssen pitched a scoreless 9th inning and looked strong in his one inning of work.

Janssen signed with the Nationals this past offseason as a free agent. He played the last 8 seasons with the Toronto Blue Jays as their closer, although he will not be the closer in Washington, Janseen still adds depth to the solid bullpen and now takes on the role of the setup man.
