Using props to celebrate home runs is somewhat common in the majors, but the Minnesota Twins might have one of the strangest home run celebration props of all time.
After the Twins notch a home run, they celebrate by throwing whichever batter hit it a packaged sausage. Manager Rocco Baldelli explained the strange home run celebration on Sunday, though he didn't offer much of a reason for why a sausage was selected as the home run celebration prop.
"It's a summer tangy sausage, is what it is. I actually looked at the package yesterday," Baldelli said. "It's bringing us a lot of hits and runs and stuff, so I'm all for it.
