Detroit Tigers manager Brad Ausmus said designated hitter Victor Martinez was released from hospital Saturday after he was admitted with irregular heartbeat, per Jason Beck of MLB.com.
Beck noted Martinez will be monitored for seven to 10 days and will not undergo any activity for a week.
Martinez left Thursday's contest against the Tampa Bay Rays and was placed on the 10-day disabled list. According to Beck, the team called up John Hicks in a corresponding move.
Ausmus previously said this was "more scary than a general baseball injury," per MLB Network Radio.
