Shaw was recalled from Triple-A Pawtucket before the game and was penciled into the lineup at third base. He had been 3-for-15 on the season without any extra-base hits. He started his day with a leadoff double in the second inning and would come around to cross home plate. He then belted a solo homer off Matt Moore in the third inning. Shaw singled and came around to score in the fifth inning, then walked and scored another run in the sixth. To top it all off, he slugged a two-run homer off Kirby Yates in the eighth, finishing the afternoon 4-for-4 plus a walk with a double, two homers, three RBI and five runs scored.
