The Cubs Hub: SI.com's best articles, videos and galleries from 2016

Is the Cubs' long World Series drought finally at an end? After over a century of waiting, Chicago looks poised to win its first championship since 1908 amidst one of the best seasons in team history. The Cubs captured the National League Central crown by winning 103 games—fifth most in franchise history—and earned the NL's No. 1 seed in the playoffs. That paired Chicago up with the Giants in the Division Series, where the Cubs won the first two games, then dropped Game 3 late and trailed into the ninth inning of Game 4. With the series on the verge of going back to Chicago for a do-or-die Game 5, the Cubs rallied for four runs in the inning to stun San Francisco and clinch a second straight trip to the NLCS, where they will face either the Dodgers or the Nationals.
