Shohei Ohtani has his first major league home run.
The Japanese slugger launched a three-run shot in his first home at bat Tuesday night for the Los Angeles Angels, giving them a 6-2 lead in the first inning against the Cleveland Indians.
Ohtani smacked a 73 mph curveball from Indians right-hander Josh Tomlin over the wall at Angel Stadium. Ohtani was the Angels' designated hitter, batting from the No. 8 spot in the order.
In his big-league batting debut Thursday in Oakland, Ohtani was 1 for 5. He singled on the first pitch he saw.
