Max Scherzer struck out 11 batters over seven shutout innings Saturday in the Nationals' 4-1 defeat of the Padres.
It was a dominant performance from Scherzer, who gave up only four hits and two walks over his seven impressive frames. He's now 4-3 on the season with a fantastic 1.75 ERA, 0.92 WHIP, and 66/8 K/BB ratio in 56 2/3 innings. That seven-year, $210 million pact is looking warranted so far. A date with the Phillies is next. May 16 - 11:41 PM
