Dodgers prospect OF Scott Schebler connected for his third home run of the season on Wednesday for Triple-A Oklahoma City.
He’s now homered in three consecutive games and owns a .163/.234/.395 batting line on the year. Schebler, 24, proved he was for real last season at Double-A Chattanooga by hitting .280/.365/.556 with 28 home runs, 14 triples and 23 doubles in 135 games, and he then followed it up with strong performances in the Arizona Fall League and spring training. He’ll always strike out a lot, but Schebler’s contact skills, raw power and ability to play all three outfield positions should make him a valuable fourth outfielder, perhaps even a starter, in the big leagues.
