San Diego Padres
The San Diego Padres won their third consecutive series when they took two out of three against the Cubs in Chicago. The Padres are 8-5, and if it weren’t for Adrian Gonzales losing his mind in the opening series they could very well be 9-4.
What’s been most encouraging about the Padres’ start is they’re not just winning, but they’re also passing the eye test. These haven’t been fluky 1-0 wins that have been so common the last few years. They’re getting on base, hitting for power and coming through with runners in scoring position.
