Ryan Zimmerman Announces Retirement After 16-Year MLB Career With Nationals

After a 16-year career with the Washington Nationals, Ryan Zimmerman is hanging up his cleats.

He announced his retirement Monday:

Even though there was no official announcement until Monday, Zimmerman and the Nationals seemed to prepare for this moment at the end of the 2021 season. He was given a standing ovation from the crowd at Nationals Park after being removed from the final game of the regular season.
