Brewers prospect SS Yadiel Rivera has been promoted to Triple-A Colorado Springs.
The Brewers placed shortstop Jean Segura on the disabled list Wednesday and called up Luis Sardinas, who will be replaced by Rivera on Colorado Springs' roster. That's not to say the 23-year-old middle infielder didn't deserve the promotion, though, as he was batting .322/.366/.452 with eight doubles, two triples, a home run, 13 RBI and eight stolen bases through 32 games for Double-A Biloxi. Already on the Brewers' 40-man roster, Rivera batted .258/.309/.374 with 40 extra-base hits (five home runs) and 10 stolen bases in 124 games last season between High-A Brevard County and Double-A Huntsville.
