Tommy Hanson was reported to be in a coma earlier on Monday, and it appears he did not make it.
WSB Atlanta’s Zach Klein reports that Hanson, 29, has died.
Hanson reportedly suffered a catastrophic organ failure and was moved to Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta for examination. He was rushed to the hospital early Sunday after experiencing problems breathing, according to WSB.
Hanson made his MLB debut for the Braves in 2009 and had four strong seasons with the team before they traded him to the Angels for Jordan Walden prior to the 2013 season.
