Second baseman Brian Dozier has agreed to a one-year, $9 million deal with the Nationals on Thursday, according to ESPN's Jeff Passan. Dozier is expected to replace Wilmer Difo and Daniel Murphy for Washington's starting spot.
The seven-year veteran spent the first six years of his career in Minnesota before being traded to the Dodgers at the 2018 trade deadline. Dozier hit just .182 in 143 at-bats with Los Angeles and finished with a career-low .215 batting average in 2018.
Dozier played in the 2015 All-Star game while with Minnesota and finished in the top 15 of the American League MVP voting in both 2016 and 2017.
