Don Mattingly has reportedly been hired as manager of the Miami Marlins.
Molly Knight of Vice Sports cites a person with knowledge of the situation who claims Mattingly has signed a four-year deal with the team. The Marlins could wait until the conclusion of the World Series to make a formal announcement.
Mattingly will become Miami’s eighth new manager since 2010, which is truly remarkable. He managed the Dodgers the past five seasons and won the NL West division the last three, but the Dodgers basically had a World Series or bust mentality with their astronomically high payroll.
