Rangers placed 1B Mitch Moreland on the 15-day disabled list with a left elbow injury.
Moreland underwent surgery Wednesday to remove loose bodies from his left elbow and is expected to miss around three weeks. He tried to play through the discomfort, but it wasn't working. Kyle Blanks has been called up from Triple-A and should see a good amount of playing time at DH for the Rangers through the middle of May.
