Rangers' Deep Bench Is A Double-Edged Sword

The Rangers have an infield logjam, but they aren’t complaining (yet).

If asked, any MLB manager would tell you that having a deep bench is a good problem to have. It’s definitely preferable to not having enough depth, and it’s probably closer to the truth to say that a team can never have too much depth than to ever say that it’s a problem.

The Texas Rangers’ Jeff Banister certainly isn’t complaining. The American League’s best team is sitting comfortably at the top of their division, 21 games over .500 and 9.5 games ahead of the next-best AL West team, the Seattle Mariners.
