Professor moves student’s exam to accommodate Cubs playoff game

The Chicago Cubs reached the playoffs this season for the first time since 2008, and they are hoping to win their first World Series since 1908. At least one college professor recognizes the significance of the team’s pursuit.

A Cubs fan named Ben Larson, who is a student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, emailed one of his professors to see if the teacher could do him a big favor by moving an exam scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 8. As Larson explained over email, he and his family scored tickets to the one-game playoff against the Pittsburgh Pirates and planned to drive to the game.
