Pineda dominates Mets in 6-1 win - Michael Pineda (S) New York Yankees

Michael Pineda pitched 7 2/3 innings of one-run ball in Friday's 6-1 win over the Mets, allowing just five hits and striking out seven.

The Yankees made things easy for their pitcher, as they jumped on Jacob deGrom for six runs through the first three innings. Pineda took full advantage. He struck out seven and the only run he allowed came via a Lucas Duda sacrifice fly in the sixth inning. The outing lowered Pineda's ERA to 3.92. Far more impressive is his sterling 27/2 K/BB ratio over 25 2/3 innings. Yet again, he showed pinpoint control, throwing 78 of his 100 pitches for strikes.
