BOSTON -- You know it’s been a good week at the yard when the cancer patient shows up to have his picture taken in the midst of undergoing chemotherapy.
When the Red Sox assembled in front of Fenway Park’s Green Monster Friday afternoon for their annual team photo (David Ortiz and Hanley Ramirez, of course, arriving fashionably late), John Farrell, 17 days past his 53rd birthday and three days into his treatment for non-Hodgkins lymphoma, had traded in his hospital gown for his home whites.
