He has been on the disabled list since early June after having his hamate bone in his left hand surgically removed. Prior to the injury, Robertson was batting .272/.347/.436 with 25 extra-base hits and 32 RBI through 49 games at Double-A Montgomery. The 21-year-old doesn’t come with the hype like some of the other shortstop prospects in the minor leagues, but he has the upside of an above-average everyday player thanks to his contact and on-base skills, strong defense and high baseball IQ. Robertson should be an option for the Rays at some point in 2016.
