While lacking the flashy acquisitions of the rival Cubs, the Cardinals’ offseason was hardly a failure
After being the best team in baseball last season, the Cardinals faced a number of questions heading into this offseason? Will they resign Jason Heyward? How will they replace the injured Lance Lynn? Will they look to add a big bat to the lineup? Will they make a run at David Price?
At the end of the day, the Cardinals didn’t make any big splashes, outside of signing Mike Leake to a 5-year/75M deal. Many called the Cardinals offseason quiet, and many pondered whether the Cardinals had allowed themselves to fall behind the Cubs.
