It seems the New York Mets aren’t sure how they want to use Rafael Montero. Moved to the bullpen at the end of last season as well as this spring, due to an overstuffed rotation, Montero was not expected to start in any capacity. A few weeks later, following news that Zack Wheeler was lost for the season, Montero was given a shot to compete with Dillon Gee for the 5th starter’s role. After Gee managed to win the job, Montero began the season in the bullpen, as was expected from the start.
