Daniel Murphy walked twice and hit a solo home run in five trips to the plate as the Mets downed the Phillies on tuesday.
Murphy added what seemed at the time to be an insignificant insurance run with his seventh-inning solo homer against Dustin McGowan. It pushed the Mets' lead to three runs, but they wound up winning by only one. Murphy was hitting just .136 entering the game but has registered an extra-base hit in his last two games. Fantasy owners and the Mets, for sure, are hoping it's the start of a hot streak. Apr 14 - 10:41 PM
