SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic -- The Major League Baseball Players Association has forbid a trio of stars from participating in the Caribbean Series' inaugural Home Run Derby after it an announcement that David Ortiz, Robinson Cano and Miguel Cabrera would compete.
The organizers of the 2016 Caribbean Series had the brilliant idea of including a Home Run Derby on the third day of the tournament as a way to further enhance the show, and fans were already rubbing their hands with the announcement that Ortiz, Cano and Cabrera would participate in the event.
