The New York Mets have the playoffs in their sights, and that will surely impact their strategy ahead of Tuesday's MLB trade deadline.
"They're going for it," a rival general manager said of the Mets' trade deadline plans, per Andy Martino of SNY.
Martino noted that "going for it" could mean adding multiple relief pitchers or perhaps being more aggressive.
While New York is 10 games behind the first-place Philadelphia Phillies in the National League East, it currently occupies the second wild-card position in the NL. The Mets are just a half-game behind the Atlanta Braves for the first wild-card spot and hold a half-game edge on the San Diego Padres.
