MLB Trade Deadline Will Reportedly Be August 31 Amid Shortened Season

Although no deal has been finalized, Major League Baseball and the MLB Players Association have the parameters in place for a 60-game season beginning on Friday, July 24, per CBS Sports' Jim Bowden.

If the 2020 season comes to fruition, many changes will take place that differ from previous years, and that includes bumping the trade deadline a month later than usual to Aug. 31, per Jayson Stark of The Athletic.

The MLB campaign has been delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was scheduled to begin March 26.
