The St. Louis Cardinals and veteran shortstop Brandon Crawford reportedly have a "mutual interest" in working out a deal, per the St. Louis Post-Dispatch's Derrick Goold.
According to Goold, the Cardinals are looking for a backup to rookie Masyn Winn, who made his debut late last season.
Crawford is coming off a two-year, $32 million contract with the San Fransico Giants, whom he has spent his entire career with. Last season, Crawford hit a career-low .194, collecting 55 hits and seven homers in 92 games.
