An anonymous MLB executive suggested the New York Yankees and Chicago Cubs as trade partners in a deal that could potentially involve starter Jameson Taillon as well as prospect Jasson Dominguez.
"Center a package around Jameson Taillon and/or reliever Mark Leiter Jr. to the Yankees for Jasson Dominguez or Spencer Jones," the executive said, per ESPN's Jesse Rogers.
Jon Morosi of MLB Network also reported that the Cubs are "another potential Yankees trade partner" on Thursday.
With Chicago falling further out of the National League wild-card race, president of baseball operations Jed Hoyer told reporters on Monday that the front office will make moves that help the team during the 2025 season and beyond "unless things change dramatically.
