Mets' Collins taken to hospital, misses game

MILWAUKEE -- New York Mets manager Terry Collins was transported to Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee less than 30 minutes before Sunday's first pitch against the Brewers at Miller Park after complaining of feeling ill, Mets assistant general manager John Ricco said.

Collins will remain hospitalized overnight in Milwaukee to undergo further testing and will not accompany the team back to New York.

Trainer Ray Ramirez is with Collins at the hospital and will remain in Milwaukee as well. Collins did watch Sunday's 5-3 loss on TV, Ricco said.

Ricco said it's too soon to know whether Collins will manage Tuesday's homestand opener against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
