New York Mets first baseman Pete Alonso will want "at least $200 million" when he hits free agency this winter, Bob Nightengale reported for USA Today.
Alonso and the Mets avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $20.5 million contract in January.
At the time, MLB.com's Anthony DiComo reported that there were "no indications" that the Mets were close to agreeing on an extension.
The Mets reportedly offered Alonso a seven-year, $158 million extension last summer but did not reach an agreement with the three-time All-Star, per Joel Sherman of the New York Post.
