Former New York Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira said Thursday he's "not surprised" Robinson Cano get suspended 80 games by Major League Baseball after he tested positive for a banned substance.
Specifically, Teixeira noted it was hard to be stunned by the news because Cano's assistant was named in the 2013 Biogenesis scandal.
"Robbie Cano's assistant was on the list for Biogenesis," Teixeira said on The Michael Kay Show, per NJ.com's Brendan Kuty. "Of course he had his assistant buy stuff for him. Alex Rodriguez got popped by Biogenesis and Melky got popped.
