Mark Shapiro took over as the Toronto Blue Jays President on the heels of the Alex Anthopoulos departure immediately making him public enemy number one north of the border. Speculation swirled that Shapiro would not give Anthopoulos who was affectionately known as “The Silent Assassin” to the Blue Jays faithful the same autonomy he was accustomed to. Nobody can argue that the current Blue Jays team is a direct result of the former General Manager’s blood, sweat and tears.
Shapiro has an opportunity to win back the fan-base and prove his commitment to winning by locking up David Price to a multi-year deal.
