M's reviewing 'all options' after catcher's tweets

The Seattle Mariners say they are reviewing "all internal options" after backup catcher Steve Clevenger posted a pair of controversial tweets Thursday addressing the recent unrest following the fatal shooting of a man by police in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Mariners general manager Jerry Dipoto said the team was "very disappointed" in light of Clevenger's tweets, one of which said in part that "Everyone involved should be locked behind bars like animals!"

"While he is certainly free to express himself, his tweets do not in any way represent the opinions of the Seattle Mariners," Dipoto said in a statement.
