Clayton Kershaw struck out nine and allowed just three hits and two runs in Wednesday's 3-2 loss to the Giants.
Kershaw himself was not saddled with the loss, as the Giants won the game in the ninth inning on a Joe Panik sacrifice fly. While Kershaw has yet to go deeper into a game than 6 1/3 innings, he's now whiffed 35 batters in 24 1/3 innings and his stuff looks as good as ever. He had a root canal in early April, but it does not appear to have effected his arm. After a slow start, his ERA now sits at 4.
