John Farrell 'feeling pretty darn good' with cancer in remission

John Farrell couldn’t get excited until he knew for sure his cancer was in remission.

The Boston Red Sox manager got that good bit of news — that his stage 1 lymphoma was in remission — Thursday after a scan. Farrell spoke with reporters Friday on a conference call, expressing his excitement to get back to work.

“I feel like the news of (Thursday), and getting a clean bill of health has been a huge relief,” Farrell said Friday.

The Red Sox skipper said he finished treatment, which went as long as 10 hours per day, three weeks ago.
