Jacob DeGrom to Prepare for Next Start with Mets After Elbow Injury

New York Mets starting pitcher Jacob deGrom will prepare for his next start despite suffering a hyperextended pitching elbow on Wednesday.

According to former ESPN reporter Adam Rubin, the Mets released an update on deGrom's status Thursday, saying that an MRI revealed no damage.

The statement added that while deGrom will prepare for his next start, he will also be "monitored for soreness and other possible symptoms."

DeGrom suffered the injury when he swung at a pitch and missed during the third inning of Wednesday's 7-0 loss to the Atlanta Braves.
