Ippei Mizuhara, former interpreter for Los Angeles Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani, is in federal custody after surrendering to law enforcement Friday morning, Alden González reported for ESPN.
Mizuhara is being charged with bank fraud after allegedly stealing more than $16 million from Ohtani.
He will appear in court in Los Angeles at 1 p.m. PT Friday and is expected to be released on bond, González reported.
