Cleveland Indians designated hitter Carlos Santana was hit on the right side of his head by a foul ball in the dugout Thursday night and suffered a contusion.
Santana was hit by teammate Francisco Lindor's foul ball in the fifth inning of the Indiana's 14-4 win over the Los Angeles Angels. Santana was standing on an elevated bench when the foul ball traveled to the dugout.
"By the time he left, he was really rallying," Indians manager Terry Francona said. "The good part of it was that, as hard as he got hit and as bad as it looked, for him to -- half-hour later -- to start to feel better really kind of made everybody feel better.
