Giancarlo Stanton made his first Yankee Stadium home run worth the wait.
The reigning NL MVP went deep for the first time as a Yankee in the Bronx on Wednesday, hitting a 458-foot blast off Rays pitcher Blake Snell in the first inning Wednesday.
The exit velocity of the home run was measured at 117.9 mph, making it the hardest-hit ball of the young 2018 campaign, per Statcast. David Adler of MLB.com noted it's the sixth-hardest hit home run in Yankee Stadium since the introduction of Statcast.
