Mookie Betts has made a name for himself as a terrific all-around player on the diamond, but the Boston Red Sox star may have a new claim to fame.
According to the Boston Globe's Peter Abraham, Betts may be a distant relative of Meghan Markle's, who will marry Prince Harry on May 19. Amateur genealogist Jim McNiff discovered Betts' great-great grandfather (Joseph Betts) and Markle's great-great-great grandfather (Jacob Betts) both lived in Madison County, Alabama.
"I saw on television that they were getting married. But I had no idea we were related," Betts said, per Abraham.
