An 18-year-old baseball fan is suing collectibles marketplace Goldin for the ownership rights to Los Angeles Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani's 50th home run ball.
Attorneys for Max Matus, who says he grabbed the ball before it was "taken from him as a result of civil battery," filed a lawsuit on Wednesday in Dade County, Florida, seeking to stop the sale of the ball, Darren Rovell reported for cllct.
The sale is set to open for bidding Friday on eBay with an opening bid of $500,000, per ESPN's Dan Hajducky. Bidders will be able to purchase the ball outright for $4.
