Edinson Volquez to Start Game 5 for Royals in 2015 World Series

Kansas City Royals right-hander Edinson Volquez will start Game 5 of the 2015 World Series after learning his father, Daniel, died Tuesday, per USA Today columnist Bob Nightengale.

Volquez pitched six innings Tuesday in Game 1 of the World Series against the New York Mets, allowing six hits and three earned runs while earning a no-decision in the Royals' 5-4 victory in 14-innings. There were conflicting reports on when exactly Volquez's father died, but it most likely happened just hours before the game, per Associated Press writer Dave Skretta (via ABC News).
