Don Orsillo broadcasted his final game as the play-by-play voice of the Boston Red Sox on NESN TV Sunday, and it was an emotional day.
Orsillo was a beloved figure who teamed with Jerry Remy to be the voices of the Sox on TV during a time when the team turned it around from disappointments to World Series winners throughout the 2000s. The passionate New England fans loved Orsillo and were furious when NESN pushed him out over the summer.
Orsillo was afforded the chance to give a farewell during the last game of the season Sunday, and it was moving.
