The Los Angeles Dodgers have designated right fielder Jason Heyward for assignment, per FanSided's Robert Murray.
Heyward, a 15-year veteran, has spent the last two seasons with the Dodgers. Through 63 games, he's recorded six home runs, 28 RBI and a .208 batting average.
The 35-year-old will now look to aid a team in need of some veteran assistance as the postseason nears.
